AWARE is working for Youth rights through raising awareness in district Sanghar. Through the sensitization and raising awareness events, community formed “child protection committee Tando Mitha Khan (TMK)”which is the reflection of the training on “Support in children rights, Child Protection and strategies to prevent child marriage, through Supporting Girls Education”.
“early child marriage is the big issue in Tando Mitha Khan that has destroyed live of many girls’ s have to raise voice against this inhuman tradition that should be stopped with collective voice and joint efforts of all of us through this forum” stated Mr. Moiz Ali Shah (President), Child Protection committee Tando Mitha Khan ” for last five month CPC visiting different villages where awareness is raised on early marriages, violence against women and girls and low enrollment of girls in education. CPC conducted meeting with Village Leaders, Religious leaders, teachers and other civil society stakeholders.” Said Mr. Moiz Ali Shah
Building linkages with Media and Law department, and to raise awareness through, rallies, theaters, and messages through children of school and all our efforts has resulted in increase 30% girls enrollment in Primary school TMK where girls education was very difficult specially by Syed families due traditional constraints, community people were thinking girls education is not necessary compared to boys, CPC-TMK mobilized them for girls education” continued MR Moiz Ali Shah “we have also resolved to continue working against Early Child Marriages and our efforts are paying off” concluded Mr Moiz shah
