Our journey began in 2003 with a clear and heartfelt mission—to empower the most vulnerable communities in Sindh, especially in Umerkot and Tharparkar, through knowledge, participation, and sustainable solutions. Guided by the belief that meaningful change grows from within communities themselves, AWARE continues to work with passion and purpose to ensure justice, equity, and dignity for all.

Our slogan, “Transforming today, sustaining tomorrow,” reflects our commitment to both urgent action and long-term impact. We aim not just to deliver services, but to help shape systems that work for people—and with people.

What defines AWARE is not just what we do, but how we do it:

We conduct research and generate local knowledge to guide development grounded in context and evidence.

We pilot good models and set scalable examples that serve as inspiration and proof of what works.

We influence decision-makers and key stakeholders to align public policy and resources with the needs of the people.

We work with the state, both on supply and demand sides, strengthening governance and supporting communities to voice their priorities and participate in decision-making.

These efforts would mean little without the active involvement of the communities we serve. It is their resilience, trust, and solidarity that fuel everything we do. They have stood with us through challenges and co-created each milestone we have achieved.
