Karim Bux Shaikh

Karim Bux Shaikh is a highly respected educationist and community leader with over 40 years of service in the Education Department, Government of Sindh. He retired as Deputy District Education Officer in Umerkot, where he was widely known for his commitment to improving educational standards and governance in public schools. Throughout his career, he actively contributed to teacher training, school management reforms, and enrollment drives—particularly focused on increasing access to education for girls and marginalized communities.

Mr. Shaikh has also been a vocal advocate for social justice, children’s rights, and the promotion of peace and tolerance through education. Beyond his official duties, he has remained deeply engaged in community development efforts, collaborating with local civil society groups and government initiatives. As Vice Chairman of AWARE, he brings invaluable field experience, a grassroots perspective, and a lifelong dedication to transforming the education landscape of rural Sindh. His current focus includes strengthening community-school linkages, advocating for educational equity, and supporting youth empowerment programs in under-resourced areas.
